The Department of Business Management, Purvanchal University legacy
now extends on to new and unchartered territories with the official
launch of the Purvanchal University Alumni Association. The first set of
alumni from the department from the graduating batch of 1992 till today
have been moving from strength to strength and creating a name for
themselves and the department. The first batch was witness to the
hardships and the vagaries of a start up institution, where the building
was housed on the first floor of a nursing home to the lush green campus
of the university. The days of Savitri Nursing Home are treasured in the
memory of most alumni who have studies there. The three rooms shared
between two batches and the prized single room luxury of Dr. L.M. Prasad
our esteemed ex-Dean and Head, Department was truly the heady days of
the institute.
Later the campus moved to the “Pili Kothi” and finally to the now new
plush campus spread over 170 acres. What remains still etched in the
minds of the alumni are the hunger to do something and if all roads end,
then create one. Today’s new age topics like campus placements,
Corporate Resource Centres, Pre placement talks, pre placement offers,
package of 12 lacs etc. were unheard of and seemed Greek for most of us.
Today, as we all look back and reminisce over those days its not
repentance but a sheer feeling of nostalgia and belongingness towards
the place.
This novel attempt is a platform for the group to come together and
create fresh inroads, look back and in the hectic pace of life keep that
as a reality check for all of us to stay grounded. It is also a forum
for all of us to socialize, interact and give back to the alma mater to
whom we owe so much. Let’s all celebrate the spirit of indomitables and
create a better world for all of us.
